ARE YOU A HUNTER, GATHERER, WARRIOR OR TEACHER?

A genotype

Do you know your Genotype?

Far from being scary, it is empowering!  Much like a road sign that warns of slippery conditions ahead which allows you the opportunity of taking steps to avoid any disaster, knowing your genotype will highlight conditions that you need to watch out for and avert.

According to Dr Peter D’Adamo, author of “Eat Right 4 your Blood type”, there are six genotypes and everybody will fit into one of these six.

There are some blood groups that are exclusive to a genotype, such as the Hunter and others that may have all four blood groups, such as the Explorer.

Hunters and Explorers are inflammatory based and react strongly to environmental and food allergens that will affect the immune and gut.

Teachers and Nomads have a more tolerant immune system that doesn’t react as readily to some pathogens and in some cases, mutinous cancer cells.

Gatherers and Warriors have a metabolism that has a tendency to slow down and hang on to calories.

You can see that these characteristics can come with their own strengths and weaknesses, for example an inflammatory response may kill off microbes and parasites but it may also be overzealous and attack your own tissues, resulting in auto-immune disorders.

There are certain foods that will increase the negative aspects and those that will dampen down or stimulate where necessary.  If you are prone to gaining weight, reducing your calorie intake will cause your body to slow down metabolism and hang onto every calorie in preparation for the ‘famine’.  Some foods increase this tendency and some will switch off those mechanisms and improve your metabolism!

Certain foods may increase the clotting factor in your blood and others will lower this risk and improve circulation, lowering the risk of strokes or heart attacks.  If you are a Warrior or Gatherer, this is an important list of foods!
